My 2011 Kapalaran

It scares me to leave 2010 and say hello to another year, especially when 2010 has been a really good year to me. But who says I chickened out? *v*
Ika nga ng horoscope ko for 2011, I'm shifting into the higher gear. May God bless me. Amen.

Plead to Globe Telecoms

Dear Globe,

I have been loyal to you, because most of my friends are on Globe too. However, I heard a rumor that Super150 won't be around anymore. You'd want to confirm it or not, please provide a budget-wise and -friendly offer for a young professional like me. Just a suggestion, you might bring back Immortal, which I was very fond of using. And if you'd want to reward us, kindly offer something like this as well. Rest assured we'll highly appreciate your grant on these requests.

Happy Christmas.

Thank you.

Christmas Family Portraits

The Kardashian's was... awesome. It was very Hollywood.
I'd want to have a family portrait like the Kadashian's as well.

I'll try to be more sympathetic

Just in time for new year, this would be a great idea for a new year's resolution. I just do hope I could live up to it.

I was able to view a friend's post on depression. Very helpful--either you have depression or you don't. The post talks about helping people in depression. It won't bore you with scientific stuff, but with just practical ways that even a 5-year old kid can do.

When I was reading the "what to say" and "what not to say," I felt like a jerk. The "what not to say" lines are so like my usual "hirit" to everyone. I've always wondered how to be more sympathetic. Believe me, I am well aware of myself and have wondered how can't I be a person who can "console" or "advise" when someone is down. With these simple "what to say" and "what not to say" lines, I am hopeful I could be a better friend.

Now, who is down? Come to mama. I know exactly what to say and not say. =)

Justice Now on FB

Please like and follow this link:

http://www.facebook.com/pages/Justice-for-Hubert-Webb/104580776275565

This FB page also contains Che-Che Lazaro's episode on Vizconde Massacre as mentioned in my blog post here.

Theme Song

I just want to share a song that actually described a point in my life. Though a love song, it totally didn't describe my love life (like I have or had one). It just happened to describe my life as a whole.

The song is Gotta Go My Own Way by Vanessa Hudgens. And without any biases, I'd say I like the song regardless of who sung it. :) The entire song characterized my life, but I would'nt bore you with the entire lyrics and just stick with this excerpt.

Don't wanna leave it all behind
But I get my hopes up
And I watch them fall every time
Another color turns to gray
And it's just to hard
To watch it all slowly fade away
I'm leaving today
'Cause I gotta do what's best for me
You'll be okay
Sometimes, there are things we need to leave behind to make way for our real destiny. Sometimes, we need to make the move and don't just leave things to destiny. Sometimes, we need to look for destiny and don't just sadly wait for it to come to us.

Christmas Windows

Christmas is indeed in the air. I don't know if you're facing same problem as mine, but I'm really having a hard time with invitations. There are indeed lots of dinners nowadays.

Anyhow, that defines my Christmas. But in the malls, Christmas mood is seen right from each boutique's window. Sharing with you what I saw in Robinsons Manila and Glorietta last weekend (Powerbooks, Rustan's and Gap).

Rustan's had a carnival theme while Gap had an actual "doodling" session last Saturday. Powerbooks' my favorite. Very simple, but surely created with much thought and artistry.

Finding Justice

Since I couldn't sleep very well, I was able to watch "Cheche Lazaro Presents" last Sunday night. It aired a documentary on Vizconde Massacre. Looking closely to both sides of the story, the epdisode was entitled, "Dalawang Mukha ng Hustisya" (something like that! Haha I can't remember the title very well.).
I have heard about this incident when it broke out to the public years ago, but I was too young to know, to care and to understand. So the recent episode from ABS-CBN reminded and refreshed us with the story--this time, without so much judgment and opinions from the media and other public figures, but straight from the parties involved in this case.
I wouldn't want to re-tell the documentary in this blog. But I'd say the episode was really worth-watching. You might want to check out youtube or try Sky or Bayan's "I Want TV" to watch the episode and see why I'd stand for the Webb family.
I do hope they could find justice soon as they have been waiting and fighting long enough.

Songs from Taylor

Taylor Swift is again to release an album. And yet again, Taylor literally sings what her heart tells her for ex-boyfriends John Mayer and Taylor Lautner, and crush Cory Monteith were present in her songs.

Check this
site for the list and description of her third albums's songs.

I may not like the album cover, but I am excited for the release of it! I have been a fan of her music, but this time, I am crazed with the gossips implied on her lyrics.

Rushed to Caltex with HSBC

Did you hear about HSBC's 10-10-10 celebration with P10 per liter fuel from Caltex? Well, I did hear about it. And fortunately, I was able to avail it! Yahooo!

Yes, I really tuned in to radio yesterday just to catch the announcement on which branches to avail this promo. Good that I was able to listen on the right time and good that I switched stations from time to time. I heard the news at around 9:50am on Magic 89.9 and we were driving around Monumento that time.

We went straight to North EDSA, which was the nearest branch to our location that time, and arrived at around 10:10am. There were, as expected, cars already lining up and starting to cause traffic.

During the two hours of waiting time, my adrenaline was just OVERFLOWING! I felt so impressed with the team who started this idea. I wanted to be part of this kind of team. I want to do this kind of things! I know... I am so aware that my work right know is so not the marketing I am longing for. I thought there's a reason why I am in trade marketing and why I always stumble into trade marketing. I thought I have the skills for it even if I don't aim for it. I thought. But I am well aware that all this time, all I've been seeing is my flaws and that I could not really stand as a good trade marketer. Oh well, enough with the drama. There will be a time for my brand marketing career. U just wait. :) For now, let's just celebrate that my family was able to save 712.50 pesos for a 30-liter diesel!

Title

I think I need a new title for my blog.

So far, my life isn't bitter nor sweet and. as you may notice, my entries are not bitter anymore! Hurrah! I am thinking... "Steady lang," because that seems to describe my life today.

Hmm.

Also, I need a new "About Me," too! :)

Andalucia... Sana.

Haha

Tried to go and see Andalucia this morning. I was early naman. I got there in the port area around 10am when the Andalucia, according to this post, opens by 9am. But I wasn't expecting a people-lining-up-like-they-are-going-to-the-province-on-a-holiday kind of thing! I got turned off and went to Intramuros to take pictures instead. But it wasn't a success either. I got really tired walking to Intramuros that my hands were shaky and my feet were so damn complaining already.

Haha

What a day.

An Awesome Live Show

I went to watch the musical, Xanadu, in RCBC theatre last weekend. It was a great show. Clap clap to the cast!

It was Felix Rivera, the lead actor who played Sonny Malone, who really got the crowd engrossed. He was really good! and was incomparable to other actors who played the same role in other countries. You can check this video clip of an excerpt of Xanadu (this is actually the best and most famous scene in the musical). If you think the lead actor there is good, then brace yourself for Felix Rivera. He is just so good that I can't think of anything else to say. I don't go to musicals that much. In fact, I only went to Hairspray and Xanadu in my entire life so I know very little in this industry. But according to articles I have read after watching the musical, Felix also played roles in Avenue Q and Legally Blonde, which are both by Atlantis Productions--says a lot of his credentials. :)

Clap clap clap!

PS. I do hope Rachel Alejandro was able to dance even with her roller skates on. That would've been better. ;)

Hugs,
Jean Dempsey

Got wish?

Just found something to wish for for this Christmas!
Grabe, I superduper fell in love with this. The idea is just so cool!It was because of this contest that I got introduced to Canon and Nikon Lens coffee tumbler! Whatcha say? Cool, right? Of course, the first instinct to make yourself closer to owning these lens is to join the said contest. Of course, I'd want to do that. It's just that i don't have the patience to promote my entry and ask for votes. So I will just pray that someone would hear me out and have this as a present for me this Christmas! :) Oh by the way, I like the all-black Canon lens. :D

Long Weekend Cooking

I spent the long weekend, basically, doing housechores--managed my laundry and did some cooking.

I made a coffee jelly last night. I was scared that it would not turn into jelly even if I added another spoon of gelatin powder to compensate with the additional half cup I poured into the mixture. Thank God, my coffee jelly became a jelly when I checked on it this morning.

I experimented the recipe I got from the internet. As mentioned, I put more water and jelly powder than what the recipe instructed. Other than that, I also used 3 in 1 coffee instead of instant coffee and added Swiss Miss and lessened the sugar. I got no regrets doing this, because my coffee jelly is still a coffee jelly. The only disappointment I feel is that it didn't look appealing. Don't know if this is because of the cheap gelatin I used or simply because I didn't follow the instructions. Hehe Don't worry I will try to make another coffee jelly on Christmas maybe. And by then, I will follow exactly what instructions says (but I'm not promising). :) Hehehe

Next cooking was just minutes earlier. I made carbonara for dinner. It sucked. Yeah. How I wish I got a dog here to eat the leftovers. Oh well, I just need to deal with it and have it for breakfast tomorrow. Besides, I'm on tipid mode until the weekend.

If you have followed this blog two year ago, I bet you would ask what happened with the carbonara recipe I had before. Since I am lazy lately and I am like living in a matchbox and that there's a ready-made carbonara sauce, I had the carbonara in an instant manner. I tried Del Monte's new carbonara sauce. And I got so disappointed with the result. Not yummy at all. I wish they could make the carbonara sauce as delicious as the recipe in their kitchenomics website.

PS. Sorry, no pictures to post although I did take some. My lousy internet just could not afford to upload pics!

Elianto Colors

Dear artistic person,

I stumbled upon this site and found out that Elianto is giving us a chance to win an Elianto eyeshadow palette worth P1500! I know, like me, you like to expand your creativity. Now is our chance to shift from coloring books, scratch papers, photoshop canvas to life's most natural and exquisite piece--a woman's face. Practicing this gift with quality materials like Elianto would be a really great experience. Who else would deserve this palette?

Something E

Hello eLife (Okay, I just made that out)! It was my first time to finish an eBook (on my first attempt!). Apparently, technological advancements and involvements have made my ebook experience easy and convenient than I had imagined. I even secured a copy of the ebook in my phone to make sure I could read when I'm afk. Hehe And thanks for the long weekends which allowed me to rot and finish Percy Jackson and The Lightning Thief (and can I just say that it is so like harry potter, for me?) as quick as possible.

Right now, I'm having my second debut of ebook experience and I'm having Jodi Picoult's House Rules. I encountered some quotable quotes on this book which made me miss a real hard copy book. Habitually, I highlight or mark the quotes, lines or explanations that attract me. I do this on books that I own, of course. So I'll just think that eBooks are borrowed books that I could not mark or write on. Oh well, there post-its that I could write the quotes on. Then post them on notebooks maybe.

Jenny

The most common name in my phonebook used to be Joanne/Joanna. Not until recently, Jenny has overtaken the throne. I got three (3) Jenny's in my phonebook. Not much, I know, but it still gets me--they still get me. When creating an SMS to a particular Jenny, I had to poke my brain first to make sure that I am sending the message to the right Jenny. And because I have been bumming around a little here in my new office for almost four weeks already, I have so much time to stare at the name and think about Click Five's song with the name as the title. A bridge in Pasig was named after someone called Jenny, too! And I got a cousin named Jenny. And. And. And if you introduce me to someone named Jay, I bet we'll have to kick Jenny out of the throne. End.

You voting?

An irresponsible citizen is blogging.

That would be me.

Yes, I believe a lot would hate me for not registering for the election. Anyhow, if I were to be asked who to vote… I can only say one candidate that I’d vote with conviction. It would be Binay for Vice-President. Even before Chiz Escudero’s advertisement for him or his “Ganito Kami Sa Makati” TVC, I have been stunned under the spell of Makati. I dream of working there. Apparently, I have not gotten any job offer from any company in Makati. And all these years, I was called for an interview in Makati once. Just once. For some reason, I just heart Makati. And this aspiration somehow equates to Vice-Presidential candidate, Jejomar Binay.

I am aware that with the resources Makati has, it would be easy for any official to maintain and develop the city. But, how can you explain the loyalty Makati’s people have showed to Binay? That just makes it more alluring.

Maybe when Binay wins for the position, he might want to consider making registering easier and more convenient and make my vote be counted. He has to think about this, especially when he plans to run again for a position in the next election.

Ceasefire on Jobhunting

I know I have mentioned that I got a new job, but you might wonder why "ceasefire" when I should be actually surrendering on the jobhunt program I set for myself at the start of the year.

I got a job for a multi-national company here in the Philippines. In a way, it touches a part of my dream job. At least, I could now be working for a multi-national company despite the fact that I am under an agency. Nonetheless, I could not really convince myself to give up on looking for a job, because, to be honest, I don't know if I would knock myself with the job. It's hardly marketing. It's just related to marketing. That's why I could not really see myself enjoying. Of course, it's too early to say such judgments. Let's just wait and see. I'll be starting on Monday and as early as now, I could already feel the my physiological response to adjustment period. I have lost some appetite. And I feel okay even when I didn't eat much. I had that on my first week of my first job. And I can still remember how I have let those meatballs remained on my plate almost untouched.

Asensadong Pilipinas

Would you believe it? Well, not in all aspect that the Philippines is progressing, but I should say that I enjoyed applying for an NBI clearance this morning.

It's not my first time to apply for an NBI clearance that's why I could come up with such post to compare my experiences. The first time I went for an NBI clearance was February last year. I was still unemployed by that time and was eager to work so I tried to prep up even before I could land on a job. It took almost a whole day for me to finish processing the application. Three to four hours of it were spent waiting. And sweating. I applied, by the way, in our province. Needless to say, it was not a comfortable place to be in for almost one whole day.

This time, even when I spent few days in our province, I didn't bother to apply for a new NBI for my new job (I got a new job, btw.. After more than a week of resigning, I was able to land on a job right away. I am so thankful that the risk I took was all worth-it!). I thought to apply in Victory Mall in Caloocan instead. Its' new. And it's airconditioned! And it turned out to be a really nice experience. No long waits. And I just spent less than an hour to finish my application! And what's more, they enumerated detailed instructions on how to apply for a clearance, which was totally not visible in the office in our province.

Loveeet!

Top Saver

Being on the verge of becoming a bum makes me a bit sensitive of my money. And despite my motto of go-treat-and-pamper-yourself-because-your-work-is-too-much-hell, I always make sure that there will be enough money to sustain me in my idle period. When I checked my passbook lately, I saw that I actually earned a monthly interest! Cool, huh? I didn't expect that since most banks give quarterly interest. I know I should have known that before opening the account. But I just wanted a low-maintaining passbook account and therefore I was given the Top Saver account in Allied Bank and never asked anything at all. According to my sister who has the same kind of account, the Top Saver account limits you to two withdrawal per month, too. This is really a nice program for people who want to save money. Monthly interest. Limited Withdrawal. Nice. Really nice.

Farewell Letter

Okay, I am indeed excited for my resignation. I have been eagerly working on the things to turnover. I am looking forward to meet my replacement. What else? I dream of April 15. I dream of having the last day in work. It may sound like I am disgusted with the company I am working for or that I hate the people I work with, but I am not. I do hate the work chores. I might not like the company, but I am not that bitter.

That is why I find it funny to have stumbled upon a sample farewell letter in the internet. Haha Definitely, my farewell letter won't be like that. Haha I am actually looking for a letter that would squeeze out all the tears of my future ex-officemate. Haha Yeah, gusto kong iyakan nila ako. Hahaha They have to shed a tear. Haha

Poke Your Face

I just remembered this particular wowowee scene I have watched the past few days where the contestant answered "Poke Your Face" instead of Poker Face. I find it funny and decided to have the title of my post for this blog. Haha (It's not related to Wowowee though...)

Anyway, it's my third absence in work this week. (I need to mention this... Thanks for the medical certificate, Bets! Hehe.) Tomorrow is supposed to be the fourth one in a row for I got a text late this afternoon inviting me to an exam and interview. I got so excited that I texted some friends about it. I was so prepared to have another absence in work when I got a reply that the company that just invited me for the interview is said to have a bad record as an employer. So the fun stopped there. I wanted to poke my face.

Going back to my life... I dropped by Canon in Pasong Tamo early this afternoon before heading to Summit Media for my second interview only to find out that my lens' flex is broken and I have to spend Php1400 for its part and repair. Toinks. Poke my face again. I need donations. In cash or in kind (only accepts new Canon lens for 1000D).

Poke your face. Po-po-po-po-poke your face.

My 2010 so far...

So far, I feel very glad and lucky that opportunities are here for my 2010 bucket list. I feel that I need to update this.. add some more goals, especially now that my stars are aligned. I will really really think what more to aim this year. For the meantime, here's the update with my bucket list. :) Expect to have different looks of my list everytime I update. Hehe. Wow Mali?

I don't know if these experiences were part of the show Wow Mali. Or sadya lang na may mga batang gago?

I took the public bus coming back to Manila after the New Year's and was dropped off along EDSA-Cubao. It was already dark. Few people were walking along the streets. Indeed, the ambience was like may-estrangherong-snatcher-sa-kanto-at-may-manggagahasa-sa-dulo. But I was not scared. All I was thinking was to go home, watch TV and be consistent that riding a public bus to and from Pangasinan is long and tiring. Then, a kid suddenly came out from a sack lying on the middle of the bangketa saying something like "bulaga." Shet. What the hell?

The next one was just half an hour ago. Still hot and fresh from the oven.
I didn't go to work today, because I am "sick." So while walking along Taft Avenue this afternoon, two to three dirty kids suddenly went out from hiding from the bushes of McDonald's! Goodness gracious!

>.<

Please let me know if you've seen me in TV. I might not be aware that I am already famous.

Halik Sa Lupa

Woot. Woot. I just came from a free 3D2N trip to Punta Fuego courtesy of my employer. Sarap! Syempre, una, kasi libre. Secondly, it was really really nice. Very relaxing. Beautiful. A love.

The experience was really a halik-sa-lupa. As what I mentioned in my
"To Dos's" blog, I am aiming to experience beach and be able to go out of Region 1. So far, fate has been very kind to give such opportunity for me.

Savoring the beach was halik-sa-lupa, because I am not much of a beach-lover. Syempre, kung Bonuan at San Fabian beaches lang naman ang nararanas mo, hindi talaga maghahangad ang isang pessimistic ng beach. This time, parang naisip ko, gusto kong parang luho ang beach. Dati, wa ako care kung hindi man ako makarating ng Boracay. Iba na ako ngayon.

PS. BTW, the beach experience could have been a photography experience for me as well. But my Dslr suddenly stopped focusing. At first, it was only having a hard time looking for a focus. Then after a shot, it gave up. And until now, it still doesn't work. Sad.

Work-In Progress

I am working on it! Yes, I am indeed working on it. Last week, I went photoshoot-ing with some officemates who are into photography. It was actually my idea to ask them to shoot with me. Or to have a shoot that I could join in. Haha Either way, I just want to try shooting and you know... be able to practice shooting.

So there, we went to Intramuros last Feb. 6. Early in the morning. Very early in the morning that the sun was yet to rise. And to cut the long story short... these are some of the very few pictures that I was to able to take nicely. To be honest, these went nicely after being edited with Adobe Lightroom, a software newly introduced to me by one of my officemate/photoshoot-mate. Enjoy the pictures that remind of history books! I hope I could do better and more next time.

Solomon Guest House

My sister and I went to Solomon Guest House for lunch yesterday. Though it's my second time around, it felt like it was the first time.

I could not remember much on my first experience in Solomon other than the oh-so-delightful Tiramisu. So other than the fact that CSB students are the ones who cook your food, it's just the Tiramisu that's stuck in my head. Even the menu layout and content yesterday were new to me. That's when I started to get a hunch that the restaurant depends on whichever batch or group of students to do the business.

Yes, CSB students serving you from ordering up to the billing was something new to me. As what my sister described, she's like in a Jolly Kiddie land. Students running and manning the restaurant. Cool. To have an OJT or a course like that, it's really cool.

I don't really know much on how the HRIM course runs in College of St. Benilde. But I assume the cooks are Culinary students and the waitresses and waiters are Hospitality students.

About the experience yesterday... I am sorry to say that I was disappointed. And for a first-timer like my sister who expected a lot because of my Tiramisu testimonial, it was totally not a love. Sorry, but I have to say this... The Tiramisu we ordered yesterday was totally not like the Tiramisu I ordered the first time I went there.

Nevertheless, it could be a fun practice for Simon Cowell-like people to visit Solomon once in a while and judge every group assigned on that particular period.

Inspire me, my Airbed.

When my dad came in Manila sometime last year, I urged him to buy an airbed that costs around two thousand pesos. Since the room we are renting is very small, we can't afford to buy space-consuming mattress for visitors like my Dad. That's why.

My Dad used it that same night. And it was just the other night that I was able to experience the airbed when some relatives stayed with us for an overnight. I lab it. I enjoy it. I actually wish to just spend a couple of days lying on it, dreaming of a job interview or reading a good book, and has cheese-flavored Pringles on the side. I miss that kind of life. Now, aside from looking for a new job to replace this hell life, I am also literally searching for a reason to use for my resignation that would not look very bullshit.

To Do's

This is like a business plan for myself this year 2010. And like any other business plans, this aims to give definition on what I want and the direction I'll be taking to accomplish them.

The list I came up with is short, but I enjoyed doing it. It really helped me in defining "myself." If year 2009 was a bit of a headache for me because of work, I plan to have a fun and, yet, stable life this year 2010. The things I plotted down are inclined more to achieve personal fulfillment and happiness. Like...

photography and photoshop.
Let's put my dslr into full use. I admit I wasn't able to find time to practice or learn photography. Now, I really want to work on it. Maybe find friends who will teach you or, at least, help you discover a talent in me... :) And of course, I want to gain more skills on photoshop too.

beach. I am not really into beaches. But I like the sight (and the scene maybe?).

pilipinas. I really like to travel. Go sight-seeing and take pictures. But seems like I'll be poor for a month or so and I have been outside the country three times already.. So I would just like to have the traveling within the country (but outside Luzon please!). Besides, there is still a place to go here in the Philippines that is worth-seeing.

career. This is actually a preparation for the coming years. Of course, I want to save more money so I could plot more bonggacious "to do's" next years like traveling outside the country or buying new camera accessories or new laptop or whatever better that I could achieve. But other than that, I want to have a happy stable career this year.
Work affects my life like hell. It's consuming 90% of my life. So it better be good.
I want to start a job that I would work on with for yearssss. I don't want it to be temporary or just have it for the sake of being paid. I want to literally have a wallpaper that says "I heart my job" and mean it. I want an employer who would value you and reward you with what you deserve and who doesn't step on other people to do these things.

I aim to update this list from time to time... to assess my achievements and plot new things to achieve. May God help me on this.. :) Aja!

The Bright Side

Di ko naman sinasadya at hindi ako nagising ni Ice today. Siguro para lang hindi na ako sumakit ang ulo ko kakaisip kung papasok ako o hindi, hidni na lang ako ginising ng maaga. It's a sign.

Minsan nakakalungkot. As in heart-breaking. Kaya nga I've been wearing that galit-ako-sa-mundo face for two days already. Pero kumakabig na din naman somehow. Kasi ang daming magagandang opening na jobs ngayon. Magandang companies. And nabubuhayan ako. The heart-breaking sign na pagkaudlot ng resignation ko has something to do with this recent heart-pounding sign. Kaya siguro hindi natuloy yung offer sa akin to move to a new company dahil meron pang mas magandang plan na pwede kong kunin. Positive ang lola mo ngayon kaya walang kokontra please.

Brighter Side, Where Art Thou?

It's the pessimism talking, again. That's why I might as well tell this to myself and remind me of the enthusiastic and positive motto I plotted for year 2010.

"No one has ever injured his eyesight by
looking on the bright side of things."

Now, I am looking at the brighter side. There is such thing as resignation. Di ba? Di ba?

Hopeful Heart. Welcome 2010.

It's my first time to get hold of a new cellphone since 2005. Remember last year? I was wishing for an E66. It didn't materialize. And all of a sudden, this year, I was able to buy myself an E71, something I should thank my employer for, I suppose. It was really sudden. I didn't plan it. Really. Big thanks for my salary, my 13th month pay, my OT pay and to my relatively huge tax refund I received at the end of 2009, and to my N3660 that went black out for two days and has not been working properly to date.

Getting hold of my new phone is nothing but love. I was about to put notes and to-do's on the 2010 planner one of my bosses gave me for Christmas when I stumbled unto the warm welcome of Ice, a name I gave to my E71 (because its color is white)which I will eventually forget (I did name my DSLR "Noami," but I don't really use the name). It accommodates me with my OC and media and, not to forget, my MS Office needs (I actually wrote this blog with Ice). But I'm not saying bye bye to my planner. I'm thinking of having it as a diary... maybe put some of thoughts and things I did for a certain day on it... And maybe take note of the status I posted on FB. And maybe... I might as well post here what I posted on FB... Just to let you feel the conviction I have with what I wrote on the 'about me' section beside my photo. Here it goes: "Recognize that some things in life are just not fair. Sometimes we have to accept that injustice is a part of life, but I'm not tolerating. Let's start the year with a hopeful heart."

Yeah, for a change, let's embrace life positively.
